Filmfare Awards List Doesn’t Includes Rajkummar Rao In Best Actor (Lead) Category, Twitter Went Mad

Indian movie awards have definitely become a joke in the eyes of movie lovers as some prolific and superb actors get ignored on a continuous basis.

If you remember, Star Screen Awards made people laugh out loud when they gave “Nothing to Hide” award to Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

Most of the movie lovers now don’t expect anything from these award shows and it won’t be wrong to say that even the talented actors have stopped expecting anything from these awards.

In 2017, talented Rajkummar Rao gave some wonderful performances especially in Trapped and Newton. In both the movies, he played the lead character but for Filmfare awards, his performance was not at the level of being nominated for Best Actor award.

This year’s nominations for best actor in a leading role (male) are:

  • Akshay Kumar – Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
  • Ayushmann Khurrana – Shubh Mangal Saavdhan
  • Hrithik Roshan – Kaabil
  • Irrfan Khan – Hindi Medium
  • Shah Rukh Khan – Raees
  • Varun Dhawan – Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Now if you are thinking that Filmfare is ignoring Rajkummar Rao, then it’s not the case as they have nominated him for best actor in a supporting role (male) for Bareilly Ki Barfi.

Twitter also reacted on the exclusion of Rajkummar Rao by Filmfare:

Honestly, we are not able to understand as to what is the eligibility criteria of these award shows, if you understand, do let us know.
